SEO for a life coaching website is not just a matter of adding the word “coach” to every page. The site needs to make the service, audience, location and next step clear enough for both search engines and real people.

This checklist focuses on the foundations that help a life coach build relevant visibility without turning the website into a list of awkward keywords.

1. Decide what you want to be found for

Life coaching can describe very different services. You may work with career changes, confidence, leadership, wellbeing, relationships or another defined goal. Choose the areas you genuinely serve and use them to shape the page structure.

Start with one main service page and add supporting pages only when each one answers a different search need. A page about career coaching should not be a lightly edited copy of a page about confidence coaching.

2. Put the audience and outcome in the headline

The home page and service pages should answer:

  • Who is this for?
  • What situation are they dealing with?
  • What does coaching help them work towards?
  • Is the service local, online or both?

For example, Career coaching for professionals planning their next move is more useful than Unlock your potential on its own. A supporting line can add the location and format.

3. Build a useful service page

A strong service page should explain the problem in the reader’s language, what coaching involves, how sessions work, and what someone can do next. Include practical details such as session format, typical duration, availability and whether you offer an introductory call.

Keep the claims accurate. Coaching content should not imply guaranteed personal, medical or financial outcomes, and it should be clear when a visitor needs a different type of professional support.

4. Create local relevance without doorway pages

If you work with clients in a specific place, explain the area in a useful way: where sessions happen, who you serve, and how local clients normally get started. Make sure your contact details and Google Business Profile information are consistent.

Do not create a page for every town with the same copy and only a place name changed. One strong local page is more useful than a set of thin pages that give visitors no additional information.

5. Answer the questions that delay an enquiry

Add an FAQ based on real conversations. Examples include:

  • What is the difference between coaching and mentoring?
  • Is coaching available online?
  • How many sessions might I need?
  • What happens on an introductory call?
  • How do I know whether this is the right support for me?

Answer each question directly. A short, specific answer is more helpful than a paragraph filled with repeated search terms.

6. Make the site easy to use on mobile

A visitor searching for a coach may be comparing several options quickly. Make the navigation simple, keep the main CTA visible, use readable text and ensure the contact form works without zooming.

Your page should also load the main message and first useful image promptly. Large background videos, unnecessary animations and uncompressed images can distract from the service and slow down the journey.

7. Connect the pages with internal links

Link the home page to your main coaching service, link supporting articles back to that service, and give readers a clear route to contact you. Use descriptive anchor text rather than “click here”.

For example, this article can link to website design for life coaches, SEO services and contact Xeon Creative.

8. Measure the actions that matter

Track page engagement, CTA clicks, form starts and completed enquiries. Keep the primary enquiry event separate from softer actions such as scrolling or reading an article. Never send form contents or contact details to analytics tools.

Search Console can show which phrases create impressions, but analytics and enquiry tracking are needed to understand whether those visits become useful conversations.

A monthly review

Once a month, review the pages and queries that gained impressions, the pages that received clicks, and the terms sitting just outside page one. Improve the page that already has the closest match before writing a new article for the same phrase.

SEO is a process of making the best answer clearer and more useful. A focused service page, a few genuinely helpful supporting articles and a simple enquiry path will usually do more than a large archive of near-identical posts.
