Handover Information

Separate hosting from website maintenance

Hosting, domain registration, email and website care are different responsibilities. We make those boundaries clear before changing providers or launching a site. Shopify includes hosting within its own subscription; it does not require a separate WordPress hosting plan. See website packages for managed options, or discuss your current setup through the contact page.

Web Hosting Services questions

Scope, costs, responsibilities and what happens next.

Yes. WordPress needs a hosting environment as well as a domain name. The quote identifies what is included and who is responsible for accounts and renewals. A suitable choice depends on your website and its operational needs.

Shopify’s subscription includes hosting for the Shopify store. You still need to account for the plan, domain and any paid apps or themes. A separate WordPress hosting service is not needed for that store.

Email is a separate part of the setup and is only included where your quote says so. Before moving a domain or hosting account, we identify the current email provider and the records it relies on. Mailboxes should never be assumed to move with a website.

Migration can be scoped after checking the site, hosting access and domain setup. We agree the files and data to move, important dependencies and validation checks. A migration is planned around the actual website rather than a promise of zero disruption.

Your agreement specifies backup and maintenance responsibilities. Hosting alone should not be treated as a promise of plugin updates, unlimited fixes or recovery from every incident. We define the backup scope and any ongoing website care before starting.

Costs depend on the hosting requirements and agreed support. Your proposal states renewal charges, third-party costs and what the fee covers. I’ll review your website first, then explain suitable options without assuming a particular package.
