about the project:

For Akile African Adventures, a South African tour company offering personalised safari holidays, I designed and built an SEO-friendly WordPress website that captures the spirit of their unique tours. Drawing on the landscapes, wildlife and culture of South Africa, I created bespoke graphics and icons that mirror the sense of adventure & discovery at the heart of their brand. The project started as a simple landing page and evolved into a medium-scale website featuring a custom post type for locations, showcasing each destination offered by Akile.

Search Visibility and UX design

To maximise search visibility and user experience, I mapped customer journeys to understand exactly how visitors would search for tours, view itineraries and make enquiries. Based on this research, I planned a clear site map and information architecture so every page could be easily crawled by search engines and quickly understood by users.

I produced detailed wireframes and high-fidelity UX design mockups for key pages, testing layouts, calls-to-action and keyword placement. This ensured the final design guided visitors naturally from landing pages through to enquiries and bookings, while also supporting strong on-page SEO.

Location Custom Post Types

The finished build includes a striking homepage and a custom post type for each location with optimised copy, image galleries and contact forms. This structure allows Akile African Adventures to add new safari tours and update content easily, keeping the website fresh for both users and search engines. Christina was thrilled with how the new website combines storytelling, usability and SEO performance.
