What do website maintenance services include?

A live website needs attention as content, software and business requirements change. We agree the maintenance tasks, support allowance and response expectations in writing. New features, ongoing SEO and larger changes are separate unless your agreement includes a defined amount of that work.

Prioritise the work your website needs

I review the current site before taking on care or proposing changes. A slow page, outdated content and a broken enquiry route need different fixes. We identify the issue, decide what is included and agree additional work before proceeding. Explore existing website improvements or managed website packages to discuss the suitable route.

Website Support and Maintenance essentials

Defined maintenance

Your agreement lists the routine work, relevant platform and responsibility for hosting and backups.

Content that stays current

Changes to services, team details and products can be handled within an agreed allowance or separate quote.

Check important journeys

Forms, booking routes and shop interactions need attention after changes that affect them.

Investigate before changing

We review an issue’s context and dependencies before deciding what to repair or replace.

Support you can plan around

Priorities, access, response expectations and charges are set out so requests have a clear next step.

How the work happens

Review your website

Share the URL, platform, current access and the maintenance or changes you need.

Agree the support scope

We define tasks, allowance, response expectations, costs and responsibilities for hosting and backups.

Plan the priorities

We separate routine care from urgent issues, content requests and larger development work.

Carry out agreed work

Changes are checked against the request and relevant website journeys.

Review ongoing needs

We confirm completed work and scope any further changes as the website and business develop.

Website Support and Maintenance questions

Scope, costs, responsibilities and what happens next.

It includes the tasks specified in your agreement, such as defined software care, checks or troubleshooting. Content changes, new features and SEO are only included where explicitly scoped. The proposal explains the allowance and boundaries before support begins.

An existing WordPress or Shopify website can be reviewed first. Platform access, licences, custom code and unresolved issues affect whether suitable support can be offered. Any initial repair or migration work is identified before an ongoing agreement.

Changes are managed within an agreed scope or allowance. Larger requests, new pages, integrations and development are quoted separately unless included. Defining the work protects both the maintenance schedule and your expectations about costs.

Your support agreement sets the response expectations and how priorities are handled. A response is not the same as a guaranteed resolution time: the issue, platform and third-party dependencies affect the work. No round-the-clock service is implied.

Only where the agreement says so. Hosting, domains, email, backups and website maintenance can involve different providers. We document ownership and responsibilities so you know who to contact and what is covered.

Maintenance can address technical problems, but it does not guarantee ranking changes. SEO strategy, content and ongoing optimisation are separate work unless included in your scope. Keeping a website functioning is one part of its wider performance.
